STB's and 123 October

So I just managed  two challenges for the month of October. STB's and 123.

The first is 123 you had to use the colour- school bus yellow word- miss & paper strips.

Here's my take on the challenge.

Next is STB's You had to do a layout about your boys favourite book or book series. I have done one of book week this year. Both the boys were dressed up as Dr Seuss characters.
Here's my layout.

Experimenting with my cameo!

So I have mentioned I am just new to die cutting, and am loving playing with the cameo.
When I saw this awesome layout over at Studio Calico. I just had to jump on the cameo and have a go.

This is the layout by Lissabella
So this is what I came up with.

So much fun! The cameo has sparked so many ideas, I can't keep up. LOL

A quick layout share.

Just a few layouts to share.  First one is another layout using my old Bali parasailing photos.

The next two are of the chickens. First one is cheeky Cocoa exploring the back yard. Then the boys out collecting the eggs.
In this layout I copied an idea that  Jodie Armitage used at a retreat earlier this year. She did an easter layout using Charms creations lollipops as easter eggs. I loved it!
In this layout I thought these natural coloured ones worked well as chickens eggs.

So I have never been into die cutting machines. But have seen so many good things done on the Silhouette cameo lately that I decided to splurge and get one. I love that you can make your own designs and that there are so many available online for just $1.
Anyway this layout is about my excitement at it arriving from America.

BTW, I LOVE it!! It is awesome. Still need more time to experiment tho. The program is very easy to use and all the tutorials on youtube make it pretty easy to learn new tricks.

123 September challenge.

I had a go at the challenge over at 123 for September. You had to use the word Man or Men, the colour grey and something metal. Some pics of Bai making his house of cards. I have used bull dog clips, staples and press studs as my metal items.
Here's my layout.

Scrap the girls.

So I had a go at the challenge at Scrap the girls this month. You had to use action or sports photos. I used an old pic of me when Rick and I went to Bali about 13 years ago. This is me, not that you can tell. I used a photo from a Creative Memories page. The photo had been cut into an oval. So I took a pic on my iphone and edited it. Pretty happy with the result. I know it's me. LOL!
So I used my old Bam Pop papers and stamp to go with this one. Bam Pop papers would still have to be my favourite. I wish they had new ones. Charms creations hand made clouds also went perfectly with this one.
Here's my layout.

Seeing stripes!

I've been collecting zebra embelishments and zebra stripes for ages for these photos from book week. So I thought I'd just give them all a go at once so I could put the leftovers back into my stash and eventually get these photos scrapped. Anyway here's what I came up with.

My 10 year old Bailey did this lo about his love for the food in Thailand. A bit cute hey!

This one was for this months STG you had to use black white and one other colour.
Loving playing around with my paints and mists with a straw. Also messing around with my stamps a bit more lately. Love these Sass Lass arrow stamps.
This one is for this months 123 the challenge is the word My, purple and chevron. Loved this challenge.
I played around with my chevron punch and the sewing machine for this one.
This one is for KIU's July challenge about future dreams and bucket lists. Had fun with this one. Photos are of rollerball, one ticked off the list and a few suggestions of what I might do next.

June 123 layout.

So just returned from a great day at a 12 hour crop for Oara. Raising money to support children born unable to swallow. It was a fun day with lots of challenges, raffles and lots of chatting. I only did 4 layouts, but that's cool. This one was a last minute one for the June 123 challenge. You had to use blue, washi tape and the word change. I used my chevron punch with the tape, love how it turned out.

Also worked out why my blog wasn't set up for comments. All fixed up now.

Had a great weekend with Jodie at a retreat in Lancefield. A few drinks, great company. Lot's of inspiration and LOTS of laughs.
Was pretty happy with my 13 layouts.
Anyway here they are.

This one was for a sketch challenge.

I used this layout for a paint and mist challenge. It was going to be for the easter themed May Kraft it up but I didn't get it done in time.

This was my first layout for the WW1 june but didn't like it. Second one turned out heaps better.

* You have until 11.59pm June 30th to link your entries to this post.

I found this one to be a bit of a challenge at first but really enjoyed it in the end. The flags kinda threw me. Again it took me two turns before I was happy with my layout. The first one just didn't work.

Heres my ct sample

Be back soon I've got a heap of layouts to share.

Scrap the boys

Just a quick layout share. This one is for the May STB's challenge .
You had to use a photo of your boy or boys getting dirty and your photo had to inspire your layout in some way.
So I have used a photo of Declan eating an icy pole. I have taken inspiration from the dripping icy pole and the colour.

Retreat layouts.

So I was lucky enough to go an amazing retreat recently. It was organised by Malinda Gardner and it was a great weekend. Jodie and I bunked together and as usual that made for a few laughs including a few too many cowboys and lots of fun. Got to meet a heap of lovely ladies and catch up with some I hadn't seen in ages.

I did 14 layouts, which was all right. I wasn't really organised, since we had just got home from Thailand and it took me a bit to get started.

The best bit is Jodie and I are off on another one in a few weeks. YAY!

Anyway here's my layouts that I haven't already shared. Coz they were CT or challenge layouts.

This was a layout based on a sketch for a challenge.

This was a layout for a recipe challenge set by Mal. Loved this one.

Absolutely love this new flames template. It is awesome. Had fun experimenting and
using it as waves too.

This was a layout based on an inspiration pic for a challenge.

This was a layout I created in Peta's blind scrap. It was a lot of fun.

Anyway that's it for the moment. Got a few layouts on the go, so I'll be back soon.
Thanks for looking.
